Red Nectar Juice

This juice is packed with nutrients and goodness. The health benefits are endless. All peppers are rich in vitamins A, C and K, but red peppers are simply bursting with them, and are far more nutritious than green peppers. Antioxidant vitamins A and C help to prevent cell damage, cancer, and diseases related to aging, and they support immune function. They also protect against cataracts and heart disease, and reduce inflammation like that found in arthritis and asthma. Vitamin K promotes proper blood clotting, strengthens bones, and helps protect cells from oxidative damage.  Strawberries are also great antioxidants and a wonderful source of vitamin C, which help to prevent cell damage, and a host of other goodies.  And, as we all know, the saying goes “An apple a day keeps the doctor away” ! Enjoy !

Makes 2 glasses.

INGREDIENTS

1½ cups of sweet strawberries

3 large red apples

½ red pepper

ice

METHOD

Process the fruit in your juice extractor, pour into a glass, and add ice.  Enjoy !

  5. Should the apples be peeled?

  6. If you are using a juice extractor Meribah then no, the juice will be extracted from them by the machine itself. Cheers.

  9. Hi! I asked about the apples because you mentioned a blender rather than a juicer. I thought the red pepper was pretty overpowering but it was nice to try something new.

  10. Hi Meribah, apologies for that – an error of print, it is a juice extractor you need to use not a blender (have changed the word on the recipe) – no wonder the red pepper was too overpowering. Please try it in a juice extractor and it will be wonderful I assure you. Meantime, at least it was a healthy ‘smoothie’, but it’s a juice as in the name. Let me know how it goes 2nd time running. Best wishes your way in the meantime ! 🙂
